 What is it? A container for a wet umbrella.
This product consists of a drainage container with lid and also a collapsible umbrella. The container is 12.5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide at the top, and 2.5 inches wide at the bottom, tapering from top to bottom. It is made of plastic.
The idea behind this product is to have a place to put a wet umbrella so as to avoid making a wet mess or puddles elsewhere (in your car, house, office, etc.). The key to this product is that inside the container (see video), approximately two inches from the bottom is a drain grate that holds the umbrella up away from the bottom while it allows rainwater to drip from the umbrella into a collection area at the bottom for disposal later.
Please note that the container includes an umbrella that fits inside it just fine. The included umbrella is approximately ten inches in length. Collapsible umbrellas longer than that length could preclude the lid from being able to close. It isn’t necessary to close the lid during use, except for convenience and storage. The product is not intended for traditional long “cane style” umbrellas that are a few feet long, as their weight could cause the unit to tip over.
In our evaluation we soaked the included umbrella, inserted it into the container, and after a short wait, were able to extract it and pour away water that had dripped from it. We also observed that the container did indeed fit in a vehicle cup holder.
We observed this product to work as advertised.
