What is it? A luggage cart that can also function as a desk, tabletop, or podium.

This product is about the size of a briefcase when folded up. To use it, it unfolds easily, first by lowering the foot on the cart portion and then extending its handle. It comes with a nylon luggage strap to hold luggage, laptop cases, boxes, or other containers secure.

What sets this product apart from ordinary luggage carts is its ability to transform (yes, a little bit like the movie) into a desk. That is, it has a tabletop surface that slides up and locks into place at about common table height. It also has a support bar that can be extended, if needed, to prevent any weight on the desktop from tipping it over. The vendor advises not to put more than 20 pounds on the desktop.

For your basic road-warriors who spend most of their lives in airports, they’re not only going to love a cart for all they have to carry (which is also FAA approved as a carryon), but also one they can use to get work done between flights during layovers.

We also noted (see video) that this could come in very handy, not for just a temporary workspace, but for the all-too-common occurrence of trying to get something to eat between connecting flights in a small window of time, and finding no seats available at any of the airport restaurants or lounges. Eating in one of the seats at a gate can often be a messy and awkward exercise. This with product, you have your own private table. That’s also true in a hotel room, used as a TV-tray, if needed.

We also suggest that others, besides road-warriors, could find a great deal of utility in a product like this as well. For example, realtors often have to conduct open houses in vacant homes, where there is literally nowhere to work if you don’t bring your own table and chairs. This product is much more convenient that hauling around a card table. It also might serve well as an impromptu podium for workshops and presentations where the speaker just needs something to hold their notes, and not a full lectern. Technicians might find it ideal for temporarily setting up test equipment or laptops on-location at a customer site.

Overall, the product appeared well-made, sturdy, easy to assemble and to fold-away for storage. The polyurethane wheels (like rollerblade wheels) rolled easily and smoothly.

This product works as advertised.
